Practicum Employer Opportunities
The Women in Technology (WIT) program is offered to Immigrant and Indigenous women as a first step towards achieving our vision of equal representation of women in STEM fields.
Through practicum placements, which offer hands-on experience, references, and networking, we can empower women to reach their potential, and launch their careers in the tech industry.
Practicum host benefits include:
Access to new talent with updated skills and knowledge
Company exposure through WIT events and partnership recognition
Diversify staff and interns within your organization
Option to use the practicum placement as extended employment training and interviewing
Support women as they launch their careers
WIT students are seeking paid internships from 3-12 months long paid, or 6-week unpaid placements in the following areas:
Junior Web Development
Full-Stack Web Development
Front-End/Back-End Development
Web Design, UI/UX Design
Business or Data Analyst
Quality Assurance Analyst, or Software Testing
Power Platforms Developer
Data Science
Other areas of IT
As a practicum employer it is your responsibility to assign engaging projects and provide mentorship and guidance. Additional support through job references and networking opportunities inside and outside your organization can positively impact student success.
