Shelley DeCoste

I volunteer as a mock interviewer for Making Changes as it gives me an opportunity to use my Human Resource background, as well as the 10 years working with ESL Adult Students from most continents. I feel compelled to share my experience and assist our New Canadians with improving their English to improve their lives.

Shelley DeCoste was born in Nova Scotia, Canada.  She moved to Calgary after graduating from university almost 50 years ago.  Following a career in Human Resources with the local Oil & Gas Industry, she took early retirement.

She then became certified as an English-as-a-Second Language international instructor, teaching English overseas for 10 years.

Upon returning to Calgary two years ago, she fully retired and sought volunteer opportunities that fit her experience.

Shelley works with Making Changes on a 'needs only' basis acting as a mock interviewer to new Canadians seeking local employment.
