Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

(last updated February 10, 2023)

Making Changes Association (MCA) is committed to creating and fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are proud to embrace, celebrate, accept, and support the diversity in our community, including our staff members, volunteers, donors, community partners, employer partners, and clients.

MCA welcomes and encourages the unique contributions made by our all stakeholders, fostering an inclusive environment that is fair and equitable to all. We recognize stakeholders have life and professional experience made up of a combination of education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, colour, religion, disability, sexual orientation, values, and beliefs and we expect all MCA representatives to continuously develop a mindset that celebrates the diversity in these experiences and perspectives.

Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion fuels our ability to connect closer to our community and is key to our vision of a world where women, those who identify as women, and teen girls are empowered to make meaningful contributions to their community. We strive to foster an environment where individuals can share their skills and talents without fear of prejudice or harassment, creating a culture where everyone can reach their fullest potential.

Some examples of continuously ensuring our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion include:

- Examining and reviewing human resources and business practices and policies through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens in the diverse areas listed above.

- Providing opportunities for asking questions, seeking clarification, and providing feedback

- Encouraging curious conversations and an openness to learn and support each other.

- Supporting workplace accommodations and removing workplace barriers.

- Training in topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation.

If you have any thoughts, suggestions, comments, or concerns related to diversity, equity, and/or inclusion, we encourage you to engage by contacting the Executive Director at execdirector@makingchangesassociation.ca
