How it works

Registration and Collection Phase – April 19-May 18, 2018 (inclusive)

You will be a member of a 6-person team.

  1. You can form your own team.
  2. We can assign you to a team.

You can enter to participate in two ways:

  1. By donating $20 to cover your participation fee* and a bottle of wine of a minimum value of $20. No homemade wine allowed.
  2. By donating $40 to cover your participation fee* and the cost of a bottle of wine that Making Changes will purchase on your behalf.

There is no limit to the number of entries per person.

You can register to participate in two ways:

  1. By coming in person to our office at:
    6516 1A street SW (One block south of the Chinook station) between 10 am and 4pm Monday to Thursday and on the following Saturdays: April 28, May 5th and May 12th. Please note that if you come to register a whole team, you will need to provide us with each team member’s full name and email address.
  2. By making your $40 donation through Paypal or credit card on our website at:

Elimination Phase – May 21-June 1, 2018(inclusive)

  • From May 21-June 1, 2018, daily draws will be held and individual names will be eliminated or “voted off the island”. However as long as at least one member of your team is still in the draw, your entire team is still in the game.
  • The number of people that will be eliminated every day will depend on the number of registered participants.
  • The names of the individuals that will be eliminated will be emailed and posted on the Making Changes Wine Survivor Facebook event page.
  • The first full team eliminated will receive 6 bottles of wine to be shared 6 ways with their teammates.

Final draws and event – June 1, 2018

  • The last 24 participants whose names are still in the draw after June 1 will be invited to attend, along with their teammates, an event where the winners will be declared. The event will be held on Thursday June 7th at the Making Changes office.
  • The 24 remaining participants will receive their invitation to the event by email.
  • You don’t need to be present at the final event to win.
  • During the event, more draws will take place and more participants will be eliminated. The last 6-8 participants (depending on total participation) still in the game will be declared the winners.

Prizes to be won

  • The winners will share the wine bottles collected. The number of bottles to be won will depend on the number of entries but the distribution will be as followed:

For 499 participants or less we will issue 6 place prizes

  • 1st Prize: 35% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 2nd Prize: 25% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 3rd Prize: 15% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 4th Prize: 10% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 5th Prize: 10% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 6th Prize: 5% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • Biggest loser (1st team eliminated) receives 6 bottles of wine

For 500 participants or more we will issue 7 place prizes

  • 1st Prize: 35% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 2nd Prize: 20% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 3rd Prize: 15% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 4th Prize: 10% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 5th Prize: 10% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 6th Prize: 5% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • 7th Prize 5% of the wine split 6 ways with your team
  • Biggest loser (1st team eliminated) receives 6 bottles of wine

This year we are excited to announce that special prizes “Sparkle Ball earring” courtesy of Hillberg and Berk will be awarded to 2 select teams throughout the registration period. As a strong supporter of Making Changes, Hillberg and Berk has gracious donated 12 pairs of earring which we will award to team Number (?) and team number (?).
